Hello everyone, hope you can help. I have a truck in the shop that was kind of a mess. Custom built 1981 K30 CREW CAB SHORT BED! Super cool, but needed lots. Getting through it all. The latest fix is it had a turbo 400 trans, coupled to a NP 205 case COUPLED to a Gear Venders Overdrive unit. Also this truck has a 4 inch body and 4 inch suspension lift. Driveshaft angle were all wrong,2 piece shaft all messed up. So we went to Monster Trans and ordered a new 4L80E! All the driveshaft places I've spoken with say GV overdrive No Bueno in a lifted rig. I will be getting a 5 inch diameter one piece driveshaft. My real question is....Has anyone put the 4L80E in one of these trucks? After its installed, how far off is the transfer case shifter and what did you do to make it work? Any help is greatly appreciated!
